I purchased this 3 months ago. It used to work 30% of the time, but is now not functioning at all. The sound was okay and predictable when it used to work, but would fade on and off. Now, it will not even play, unless plugged in, and only for 30 seconds. Waste of money.

The Creative TravelSound Speaker Dock is GREAT for traveling light! The small speaker tucks snugly into the provided suede-like black case. The (docked) nano tucks inside as well. You can listen to up to 15 hours of music on a single charge. The speaker itself is very lightweight. On one side, it has a mini-USB connector, volume button, and on-off switch. Another nice touch is the small rubber panels on the back to protect your nano from scratches when sliding in and out of the dock.
You can sync the docked product to your i-tunes using a mini-USB to USB cable using the provided dock stand. The cord is not included, but readily available here on Amazon for a few bucks. (If you have a digital camera, you probably already own a cord that can do this). This means you can charge the device via a laptop computer or desktop computer as well.
You wouldn’t want to host a party with these speakers. Obviously they are small and don’t possess the most kickin’ bass and sound available. However, if you want to enjoy some music while working around the house – or watch a movie on your nano without headphones, this will do the job just fine. This will easily fit into your pocket and is not heavy and require no cords (once charged) – plus it will hold a charge all day long.
These speakers sound better on mid-volume than on the higher volume settings, when the speakers seem to be overworked. They can fit a 2G iPod nano with some effort, but you have to push down a little hard to get it far enough down in the dock for the speakers to stay on. UPDATE: This can also fit a 4G iPod Nano, but the Nano does rock a little back and forth when you advance songs. You’ll want to take care you hold the nano so the connections stay in good shape. I’m going to try cutting a small piece of foam to put between the back of the speaker and the back of the 4G nano – so that I can use it with my new one =)
In summary, these travel speakers are a great product for those who want to travel light. If you are looking for a higher sound-quality, I would recommend the JBL OnStage. Of course this product is larger and heavier, but can still travel OK.

The Creative TravelSound i80 Speaker Dock for 3rd Generation iPod Nano’s is just about what you would expect it to be. It’s basically a charging dock for the 3G Nano that allows you to recharge the unit, sync with iTunes and do all of the mundane things that you’d do when you’re not listening to music. Since none of that is very original and has been done to death by every audio accessory company out there, Creative has a new selling-point: the dock is also a portable speaker that adds an extra rechargeable battery to your Nano for tunes on the go and even more tune time! Ok, so that’s neither very original or very exciting, but it does get the job done. Don’t expect great quality sound out of the i80. It’s not bad, and is perfectly suitable for listening to an audiobook or casual music/video listening, but audiophiles can look elsewhere.
Ultimately, the Travelsound i80 comes across as a very niche product. Basically, when it comes to the Nano’s user base, there are going to be two major reasons why your average consumer bought that particular offering from Apple. Either they wanted to go with the smaller size of the unit *OR* they didn’t have the money to purchase the full-fleged iPod. If you were going for the smaller size, then the i80 Dock basically makes your Nano larger than the standard iPod, while if you were taking the less expensive route, the i80 nearly brings the price of a 4GB Nano to that of an 80GB iPod classic (the 8GB/i80 combo actually costs MORE). Basically, the only people I can see being practically interested in the i80 are those who’ll be doing something in a limited area for a lengthy period of time and will be listening to something where sound quality isn’t that big of a deal (a la audiobooks). Ultimately, I think headphones are superior, and cheaper, option.

I like to have a speaker for my ipod that I can carry with me and use at my desk at work. This one fits my needs perfectly. I like the fact that I can charge my ipod while playing it. The screen is small, but what can you expect from something so compact.
