After 2000 all MS software is crippled with WGA, product activation. In other words it’s no longer yours. When you buy 2000 you own it. It’s yours to put on as many computers as you want; to share with your friends and family.
I got one of those cheap eMachines E725 laptops at Walmart and it came with Windows 7 home premium. What a pain. It’s like nothing is what it appears to be. Everything is buried and locked down. You are locked out from even viewing some folders even tho you are the administrator. MS has become a nasty dictator.
Today I just sent a check to TigerDirect to get a copy of XP pro 64-bit edition before Microsoft stops producing them this June (so i read somewhere). Why? because as much as I hate microsoft and its wga, 2000 can’t use the 4g of memory in the new pc I’m building. Linux is still not ready; too slow and awkward. I can’t afford a Mac.

I love my windows 2000 which came to me in mint condition. It is the fastest Operating system on the Internet. But, I have only tested 8 others.

If you looking for Windows 2000 Pro. It is more stable OS for games. Due few problem that I run into on Windows 98 SE. It did not run very good on old game. Reason why I made a switch to Windows 2000 Pro. Now classic game is more stable on Windows 2000 Pro with old technology such as AGP port, ATA HDD while Windows XP with SP3 run with new technology such as PCI Express x16 and SATA HD.
If you guys out there who like play a classic games need get a best OS is Windows 2000 Pro.

It’s nearing it’s ‘no longer being supported by Microsoft’ phase. But wow! My sentiment is that if it works and works well……leave it alone!
Great seller and backed by Amazon…kinda pricey but not easily located for this price and quality.

The full version of Windows 2000 is the best operating system to come along in years. The crash and stability woes of XP and especially Vista are missing here, leaving the user with a smooth and largely trouble free experience. The product is still in it’s extended support phase providing customers with vital security updates. Great for office and home use.
