If you are looking for an exact product for less price than the Brand name, this is a close match…
I have a mini version of the Gorillapod, so I can compare the two brands. Let me say that this holds up to its price. It works just as well, but there is one catch…the joints don’t move as smooth as the brand. However, it does attach quite well to those railings and bike handles.
Do I recommend it? YES. It is great for cameras, camcorders and other devices of the medium to small size. (Medium being a JVC Everio to Small being digital camera or even the new Kodak Playsport).

The product did not work as advertised. It was marketed for use with a digital SLR. What the messaged failed to say was for a medium digital SLR. I have a Nikon D300. This model of Gripster could not support the weight of the camera. I have seen the Gripster work very well when sold and used with a camera it is designed to support, both in weight and size.

We opted for this version designed for the DSLR so that we know there won’t be head droop from installing a “heavy” camera/camcorder on it.
We use this with our pocket Flip UltraHD camcorder and our regular JVC GM-200HZ HD camcorder.
No head droop whatsoever.
It works as advertised. The legs are flexible and can turn or bend in any direction.
Each leg piece has grippy rubber edges that help adhere to the surface it is attached to.
The quick release mount is nice. It has an audible click that you will hear when it is securely installed on the tripod head. For additional security, there is a lock under the mount base that you turn clockwise/counterclockwise to prevent you from accidentally pressing the release button and having the camera slide out and fall to the ground.
We’ve installed it on a post, lamp, chair, door knob, fridge door, tree branch, chain link fence, etc. It works!
Why spend $40 for the Joby Gorillapod when you can get this identical product for 1/4 the price … only $10 here at amazon!
Thumbs up for this product.

I was interested in getting a mini flexible tripod for my Nikon D60. The price was right for this product. It was by far the cheapest flexible tripod I’ve seen that supports dSLR cameras. That is the problem though. This camera doesn’t really support dSLR cameras. Sure, I am able to place my camera on the tripod, but as soon as I add a lens the tripod becomes unstable. I don’t think I trust it enough to take my hands off the camera while its on the tripod, and that really defeats the purpose of the tripod in my opinion.
It is also very tricky getting the camera to stay pointed at what you are taking a picture of. I found that as soon as i would remove my hands from the camera, it would tilt down because of the weight of the lens, and there is very little you can do about it.
I might get some use out of this product, but it will be very little. Not really what i was hoping for. I guess you get what you pay for.
